BUSINESS ENGLISH + INTERNSHIP
Students that wish to advance their career by improving their English skills and practicing them in a Canadian workplace will benefit from the Sprott-Shaw International Language Internship Program.


Description:

The combined English language training and workplace experience is suitable for the adventurous, mature student with previous employment history in their home country.

Students will prepare for the internship placement by studying cross-cultural issues, work ethics and conditions, industry information and performance expectations.

Students will learn about Canadian business culture, apply their language skills, and gain international workplace experience that will be an excellent addition to their resume.

Outline:
+ The internship period may not exceed 50% of the entire program.
+ Students are permitted to choose a certificate, diploma or English Language Study (ELS) programs to combine with the Internship Program.
+ Students may begin the internship on the week after they complete their class.
+ Minimum of 2 months of study must be completed before entering the internship program.
+ Upon completion, students will receive an evaluation from the host company. Students will provide an evaluation of their experience to the host company.

Placement:

+ Students will be placed in a workplace environment that is suitable and relevant to skills, studies and/or business background.
+ Placement will depend on availability as well as language ability, education level and previous experience.
+ Placement in a chosen field or a specific company cannot be guaranteed but every effort will be made to make a suitable match.

Requirements:

Advanced level of English

Must be an extension of an existing program at Sprott-Shaw International Language College .

Placement must be unpaid and will depend on availability, language ability, education level and previous experience.

Regular visa requirements apply; if students wish to stay in Canada for more than six months, a Student Permit/Study Visa will be required.
